About the Challenge

The annual 48hr game making challenge has been running since 2007. Every year around the beginning of October an extraordinary number of game makers, emergent game makers, professional game makers and people who work in resonant creative industries, come and be creative in this intense space and make wonderful games...

The challenge is about design and the passion to make games. It has become a festival of creative madness in the local game community calendar. The concept is the brain child of truna (Brisbane International Game Developers Association or brIGDA) and Lubi Thomas who collectively refer to themselves as ‘the aunties’.
